The YANMAR organisation, which employs over 16,000 people in more than 130 countries worldwide, has been building diesel engines since 1912, with the continuing design philosophy of "more power and less weight". It produced the first-ever commercially viable small diesel engine, back in 1933.

It is a globally recognised brand, producing diesel engines, which are not only for leisure and commercial boating, but also for farm machinery, construction equipment, refrigeration units and co-generation power systems.
