The Agriculture Equipment department of Yanmar Europe is responsible for the sales of agricultural machinery (compact tractors, ride-on mowers, tillers, transporters, snowthrowers) within Europe.
For this department we are looking for a
Area Sales & Marketing Manager
Objective:
By personal approach and under supervision, realizing marketing and sales objectives for finished products of agricultural equipment to prospective and existing customers within a specific sales type or region.
Tasks:
- Assists in setting up activity program under departmental guidelines for his specific sales type area or region
- Undertakes marketing research and information gathering for the relevant sales channels
- Supports activity for commercialization of new products, through the evaluation of prototype machines to suit the local market characteristics
- Visits existing distributors/dealers and discusses their revenue, possible orders, ordering frequency, delivery conditions, product quality and requirements with regard to storage, transport, etc.
- Visits prospects and tries to interest them in sales of products
- Supports - through customer visits - sales actions, new product launches and changed delivery condition programs
- Investigates complaints and returned shipments, makes proposals for follow-up to the Department Manager and acts for follow-up
- Signals problems, developments, information on competitors and such and reports on these
- Maintains contacts with his colleagues for complaints, orders and accounts receivable
- Maintains contacts with customers on volumes, transportation, returned goods and with prospects on acquiring new business
- Participates in sales activities for a specific sales type area or region
- Assists in drawing up marketing and sales plans for his specific sales type area or region, including arranging suitable catalogue and sales promotion material
- Participates in customer satisfaction activities for a specific sales type area or region
Requirements:
- A technical education at least at HBO-level;
- Industry experience; small tractors (< 30 HP) for landscaping applications or agriculture implements;
- > 5 years sales experience in an international business-to-business environment;
- Computer knowledge (MS Office);
- Good professional business English in speech and writing (German and/or French an advantage);
- A commercial and flexible attitude
