Our factories are constantly subject to updating. A plant and equipment that are at the 'cutting edge' of technology are vital to any manufacturing operation. Our FIE manufacturing plants at Nagahara and Omori can make machine injector parts, accurate to near 1/10,000th of a millimeter. These micron tolerance injectors made it possible to produce our range of compact air-cooled diesels, which are among the worlds smallest. Our manufacturing operations hold approval from numerous authorities. Our quality control efforts earned us the Deming Prize in 1968. It was the first time for this price to be awarded to an engine manufacturer in Japan. Optimal use of raw materials and designs that cut out noise and vibration led to Yanmar production plants being awarded the prestigious ISO 14001 in 1997, and in 2000 the company received the IOM Engine Air Pollution Prevention statement of compliance.
